The Scholarship Inspired by Emileigh's Legacy
Jessica Apsley Jarvis, Emileigh’s best friend from high school, and her husband Brian established this scholarship in partnership with Jackson City Schools to honor Emileigh’s memory and legacy. Open to graduating seniors at JHS with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, applicants are asked to write an essay about what leaving a legacy means to them — a reflection of the values Emileigh carried throughout her life.
The scholarship began in a truly meaningful way at Brian and Jessica’s 2018 wedding, when the couple donated the proceeds from the traditional dollar dance with the bride and groom to fund the very first award. Since then, the EJC Memorial has proudly taken on the responsibility of continuing the scholarship and giving back to deserving students each year.
The scholarship award is $1,212.12, symbolizing Emileigh’s beloved number 12.
